Top-10 Stockbrokers Pool 77% Of Value In August On NGSE

As in previous months, data from the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), on Friday, showed that the top-10 stockbrokers continued to dominate transaction volume and value in August.
While the elite corps pooled 5.76bn units of various listed companies, representing 53.32% of total for the period, led by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers’ 1.349bn or 12.49%; they were responsible for N103.423bn or 76.99% of transaction value.
TRW Stockbrokers followed Stanbic in value terms with 760.331m shares, or 7.04%; ahead of the 625.562m shares, or 5.79% traded by Cardinalstone Securities; while United Capital Securities crossed 530.471m or 4.91%. Morgan Capital Securities traded 509.936m or 4.72%; Rencap Securities Nigeria, 462.324m or 4.28%; EFCP Limited, 368.704m, or 3.41%; FBN Quest Securities, 331.1m or 3.06%; just as Greenwich Trust completed the league with 308.001m units or 2.85%.
Stanbic IBTC also led the crop in value terms with N29.057bn or 21.63%; but Rencap followed with N19.221bn or 14.31%; just as EFCP’s N15.262bn or 11.36%. FBN Quest accounted for N8.472bn or 6.31%; CSL Stockbrokers, N7.808bn or 5.81%; Meristem Stockbrokers, N6.51bn, or 4.85%; and Chapel Hill Denham Securities, N6.113bn or 4.55%.
