Champion Breweries Plc, on Tuesday launched its Series 1 & 2 Commercial Paper offer of up to ₦10bn under its ₦15bn issuance programme, scheduled to close on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Proceeds of the CPs are to fund the company’s short-term working capital requirements.
Tranche 1 of the issuance, scheduled to mature on December 30, 2025, has a tenor of 176 days with discount rate at 21.1081% and Implied Yield of 23.500%. The second tranche, a 268-day instrument matures on April 1, 2026, and has a discount rate of 21.8322%, as well as 26.001% implied yield
Proceeds from the CP will be used to support the company’s working capital requirements and general corporate purposes. Both instruments opened on June 27, funding date is July 7.
Following its acquisition by enJOYcorp Limited in 2024, Champion Breweries has recorded significant improvements in profit and operational efficiency with Q1 2025 revenue, gross profit and EBITDA growing by 94%, 169% and 446% year-on-year respectively.
The issuer, with headquarters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is a publicly listed Nigerian beverage company with over five decades of brewing excellence.
Some of its products include a growing portfolio of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including its flagship products like Champion Lager Beer and Champ Malta.
The Company has recorded an impressive 5-year CAGR in revenue of 24% aligning well with the industry average. In 2024, the Company expanded its packaging line to include canned offerings, to boost product accessibility and consumer reach.
