Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, #BringBackOurGirls chief campaigner and former Minister during the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo administration, frowned at the continued silence of the Federal Government over Saturday night’s news of the release of 82 more girls capture three years ago from Chibok Secondary School in Borno State.
She enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari to direct any of his spokesmen: Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu to issue a statement to confirm or deny reports on the freedom of the girls
In a series of tweets, Ezekwesili busted into songs of praise and thanksgiving to God for the “awesome miracle” and “amazing grace,” urged the Federal Government, in a BBOG “holding release” wrote: “FG, please speak up now to confirm the news.
“When the Lord turned the captivity of our Chibok Girls, we were like those that dream. Our mouths are filled with laughter. Praise God!”
In another tweet, she wrote: “It is 3.41am here. But my eyes cannot find sleep because my heart is animated in expectation and joy. Hope maketh not ashamed,” expressing appreciation to friends for their tweets, calls, texts, following which she “cannot frame a better string of words than: Thnak you from the depth of my heart. Blessings!!”
Also tweeting, Senator representing Kaduna Central District, while agreeing that the Federal is “the only authority to confirm the release of the Chibok girls,” noted however that “credible negotiations took place.
“It’s credible that 82 girls have been released, all in good condition with the exception of one with fracture on the hand and one with crouches.
“The negotiators and particularly the DSS and complimentary support from other agencies made it possible,” he stressed, adding that “negotiations will continue for the next set after the one secured are made public.”
