Trading ended with stockbrokers crossing a total of 710.71m shares worth N10.08bn in 4,396 deals.
Data by the NSE on Thursday, noted that the top 10 stockbrokers accounted for a total of 94.527bn shares of various companies, representing 48.75% of the year’s total volume movement, with the top five pooling all of 32.3% for the period.
Interstate Securities Limited traded 19.291bn or 9.95%; Cardinalstone Securities Limited followed with 14.008bn or 7.22%; while EFG Hermes Nigeria Limited exchanged 10.871bn units or 5.61%.
Morgan Capital Securities accounted for 10.312bn shares or 5.32%; Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited was next with 8.148bn units or 4.2%; Rencap Securities Nigeria, 7.262bn or 3.75%; and Meristem Stockbrokers Limited, 6.708bn or 3.65%. Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited traded 5.924bn shares or 3.06% of the year’s total volume on behalf of its clients; CSL Stockbrokers followed with 5.924bn units or 2.54%; and Apel Asset Limited, 4.924bn shares or 2.54% of the year 2020 total.
In terms of transaction value for the year under review, however, the top-10 stockbrokers pooled N1.17tr or 53.87% of the total, led by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited with N218.
