Investors Scoop 336.611m Units Of Zenith Bank for N5.494bn

The total volume of trades rose Wednesday on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) by 61.38% to 610.58m units, valued at N11.1bn, which were exchanged in 5,031 deals, led by Zenith Bank, whose 336.61m shares, or 55.13% of the day’s total, changed hands for N5.7bn, in what is obviously a buy-in to the company by a major investors whose identity is yet unknown.
Zenith Bank was followed from afar by Access Bank, whose 73.8m units changed hands for N714.199m; while 63.835m units of Nigerian Breweries were crossed for N3.013bn among others.
Zenith Bank opened at its previous day’s low of N17. 40 each, fell to N17.15 per share, before closing at its intra-day high of N17.80 each.
