Mansard, IFC Plans Investment In 150-bed Greenfield Hospital

In line with its post-listing requirement, the board of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, on Wednesday hinted the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of plans to intervene in the nation’s troubled health sector through investment in a green-field hospital project.
The project, which is still at preliminary stages of discussions and has not been approved by the company’s board is in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (a member of the World bank Group) and other companies.
A scant detail, according to a statement by Omowunmi Mabel Adewusi, company secretary of AXA Mansard, shows that the greenfield integrated medical facility comprises of a 150-bed multi-specialty hospital and two 10-bed primary health centres/polyclinics.”
Once approved, the project, the statement continued, “will be managed and operated by Healthshare Health Solutions Ltd, an experienced hospital management company with headquarters in South Africa.”
