NBS To Publish Nigeria’s August Inflation Report Friday

Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), on Thursday said it would publish the nation’s inflation/Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of August on Friday, September 14, 2018.
In a tweet via is personal handle (@sgyemikale), Dr. Yemi Kale, Statistician General and chief executive of the Statistics bureau, said the report will be published at 12 noon.
Expectations are that inflation could hit single digit by year-end.
CPI/Inflation report for July was published on August 15, showing the Nigeria’s inflation recorded the 18th consecutive monthly decline, with headline inflation at 11.14%, down from 11.23% in the preceding month, just as food inflation slowed down to 12.85% from 12.98%.
Month on month too, inflation dropped to 1.13% from 1.24% in prior month.
