Data by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) shows that currency-in-circulation month-on-month at the end of January dropped by N211.785bn or 9.81% to N1.945tr from the level during the festive month of December, while on a year-on-year basis, it fell by N49.133bn or 2.46% from N1.994 trillion in the corresponding period of 2017.
Between November and December-end 2017, currency-in-circulation jumped by N261.073bn or 13.76%to N2.157tr, from N1.896tr in November; while YoY, it dropped by N21.945bn or 1% from N2.179tr.
