SEC Holds Seminar On Capital Market And 2017 Budget

The Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), on Monday announced plans for its maiden seminar expected to bring together experts with professional, policy and academic backgrounds who would deliberate extensively on the implications of the budget to the capital market
Experts at the seminar with the theme “The 2017 Budget of Growth and Recovery: Relevance, Implications and Perspectives of the Nigerian Capital Market,” will also examine ways the capital market can contribute more meaningfully to economic growth and recovery process that the budget is meant to promote.
Dr. Afolabi Olowookere, Head, Economic Research and Policy Management at the commission will speak at the event slated for 10am on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the commission’s Lagos Zonal office, Idejo Street, Off Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island.
Panelists already assembled to discuss the paper at the seminar coordinated by Prof. A.U. Sanda, Director, Office of the Chief Economist, SEC are: Dr. Ore Sofekun, Managing Director, Investment One, Vencap; John Chukwu, Initiator/Founder, Cowry Asset Management Limited, Dr. Biodun Adedipe, Chief Consultant, B. Adedipe Associates Limited and Mr. Bayo Rotimi, Chief Executive, Quest Advisory Services Limited.
Host/Convener of the event is Mounir Gwarzo, director-general of the commission.
