Seplat Energy Fixes US$1:N416.55 Exchange Rate For 2021 Final Dividend

The board of independent energy group, Seplat Energy Plc, on Thursday announced via the Nigerian Exchange Limited portal that for the purpose of its 2021 final dividend, US$1 will exchange at the rate of N416.55 each.

The company, which is also listed on the London Exchange, shareholders that qualifies and have elected to receive their dividend payment in British Pounds will equally do so at £0.7976 per US$.

The statement by Emeka Onwuka, Chief Financial Officer of the company explained that the exchange rate “determined by reference to the exchange rates applicable to the US$ available on 29th April 2022.”

The closing date for dividend currency election to the Company’s Registrars, he continued, “is 18th May 2022. In the absence of a qualifying dividend currency election by shareholders to the appropriate Registrar, dividends will be paid in their default currency.”
