Zenith, Access Banks Submits Audited 2021 Full-Year Financials For CBN Approval

In what may be part of their determination to beat their previous filing dates, the boards of Zenith Bank and Access Bank, in separate statements to the Nigerian Exchange Limited said they have held their board meetings to review and approve their audited results for the full-year ended December 31, 2021.

The results, they noted, have been forwarded to their primary regulator- the Central Bank of Nigerian for approval to enable them to release the numbers to investors.

A notice by Zenith Bank Plc, for example, signed by Michael Osilama Otu, its company secretary/general counsel, said the board approved the result at its meeting of Thursday, January 27, 2022.

“The investing public is also being informed through this medium that following the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) circular of January 21, 2022, Zenith Bank has elected not to file the fourth quarter unaudited financial statements on January 30, 2022,” he added.

In its own notice also dated January 27, 2022, Access Bank, said in its statement by Sunday Ekwochi, the company secretary, that at its board meeting held on the same day, the directors met “and considered and approved the group’s audited consolidated and separate financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2021, and the payment of a final dividend, subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria
