The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it will only recruit three categories of persons as ad hoc staff for the next year’s general elections.
A tweet on Sunday night by the commission said for the avoidance of doubts, it would only recruit youth corps members from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as well as students of Federal Government-owned educational institutions.
The final category, it continued, are “federal civil servants – from “federal government agencies, including tertiary educational institutions in the states of recruitment.”
Requests for such “potential ad-hoc staff are made directly to the various institutions.”
The commission also announced that “display of National Register of Voters at Polling Units level & hearing of Claims & Objections at Registration Area level in preparation for the 2019 General Elections starts from 6th – 12th November 2018 in accordance with sections 19 & 20 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as Amended).”
