The board of Daar Communications Plc, owners of Nigeria’s first independent radio and television stations- RayPower FM and AIT, as well as Faaji FM, on Monday announced the appointment of Nornah Awoh, a frontline capital market journalist and popular investment analyst, as an independent director.
The announcement by Donatus Anopuo, its Company Secretary, Daar Communications, is coming six months after the decision was taken at a board meeting held on June 21, 2018, at its Abuja Corporate Headquarters.
The appointment, of Awoh, founder and chief equity analyst of Palesa Capital Markets Associates, according to the notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), came into effect on August 1, 2018.
Awoh has over three decades experience in business journalism, beginning as correspondent/head of capital market and investment at the defunct Business Concord and Nigerian Television Authority.
He has anchored popular television programme- Stocks & Shares, which airs on TV for 12 years.
Awoh sits on the board of Three Points Industries Ltd as non-executive director, besides being a member of both the Investigative Panel and Par Value Committee of the NSE.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Ilorin, he is also a member of the MRS Oil Scholarship Scheme.
