BUA Group has, through its philanthropic arm, BUA Foundation, presented six ambulances, food supplies, and N100m each to the Rivers and Kwara State governments to assist in their fight against the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic now ravaging nations across the globe.

These bring cumulative donations by the group to various efforts to tackle the virus within Nigeria since the outbreak of the pandemic to about US$20m.

Presenting the ambulances to NyesomeWike, the Rivers State governor in Port Harcourt and his Kwara State counterpart, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Ilorin, representatives of BUA Foundation said the donations are to assist both governments in the fighting the pandemic to a standstill, as number of cases continue to rise in Nigeria.

Receiving the donation on behalf of his state, Governor Wike praised the sustained support from BUA Foundation to the Rivers State government.

He acknowledged the receipt of BUA’s N100m donation, as well as 4,000 cartons of pasta, for which the State remained grateful.

Also, Governor AbdulRahman thanked Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Executive Chairman of BUA Group for the ambulances and the N100m donations to Kwara state which will further strengthen the state’s fight against the pandemic.

He assured that the donations will be used judiciously.
