Delayed Filing Update: NGSE Grants Zenith, GTBank 30-Day Extension

Just like UBA Plc and Stanbic IBTC Holdings did earlier, the board of Zenith Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank, on Monday said their audited financials for the half-year ended June 30, 2020, is being delayed by the industry’s primary regulator.

They promised to release the audited half-year financials to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) before the end.

In a notice on behalf of Zenith Bank, its company secretary, Michael Osilama Otu, explained that “the delay is to enable the bank to conclude all outstanding regulatory requirements in the course of approval of the financial statements.”

He expressed optimism that the reports will be “submitted to the exchange on or before September 30, 2020.”

According to GTBank’s Company Secretary, Erhi Obebeduo, the audited financial statement was reviewed by its board on July 22, 2020, after being finalized by the external auditors, following which it was submitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for review.

Specifically, he announced the granting of its request for a 30-day extension by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) to file the numbers.
