Gold Insurance Appoints Awoyinfa Acting MD, As Egbaran Resigns

The board of Goldlink Insurance Plc, on Tuesday, informed the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of the resignation of Kenneth Egbaran, its managing director, with effect from September 30, 2019.
Agbaran, according to the statement by Tobi Olaleye, the company secretary and legal adviser, is being replaced by Roland Awoyinfa, the Group Head, Technical, as acting Managing Director from October 4, 2019.
Awoyinfa, an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Nigeria, with over 30 years cognate experience in the industry, joined Goldlink in 1995 as Regional Coordinator (West).
Recall that Egbaran, last month, formally joined the board of Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc as substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive, with effect from September 6, 2019, following the resignation of Polycarp Didam.
He started his career as a senior superintendent with the Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation and became marketing director at A&G Insurance.
An alumnus of the Lagos State University, where he obtained an MBA in 2008, he also worked with Afribank Insurance Brokers, Mainstream Global Insurance Brokers Limited and Crusader Insurance Limited (now Custodian Insurance Plc).
Egbaran, who became an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and London in 1986 and an associate of the Chartered Insurance Brokers in 2004, has at various times attended strategic, personnel and risk management courses both locally and internationally.
