#MoneyMondayMatters: NSE Index Attains 12-Month High, Mkt Cap Crosses N10tr Mark

Riding on the waves of the recent positive economic data and sentiments, the All-Share index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) soared by 951.14 basis points or 3.38%, closing at a new high of 29,064.52 points at the close of trading last Friday.

The last time the index attained that height was on May 27, 2016- exactly 12 months earlier, just as market capitalisation climbed N328.812bn, attaining a new high of N10.05tr, from an opening value of N9.72tr, representing a 3.38% appreciation.

The week’s gains raised the NSEASI’s year-to-date growth to 8.15%, the best so far, just as market capitalisation notched N801.12bn, representing 8.48% rise YTD from the year’s opening value.
