NDIC, AMCON Condole President Buhari Over Abba Kyari

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), on Sunday, condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari over the demise of Mallam Abba Kyari, his late Chief of Staff.
Mallam Kyari, a lawyer, journalist, and banker at various stages of his life, died on Friday, April 17, 2020, weeks after testing positive to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and was buried in Abuja on Saturday.
In separate letters signed by their chief executives on behalf of the boards, management and staff, the NDIC and AMCON acknowledged the late Kyari’s dedication to developmental governance, selfless service, and loyalty for which he earned the trust of his boss.
In its own letter addressed to the President, personally signed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Umaru Ibrahim, NDIC described the late Kyari as a patriot whose rich experience and unique competence will be sorely missed by the nation at a time the administration was committed to the rapid economic development of the country.
The NDIC boss described the late Abba Kyari as an erudite and committed public servant, who was widely respected for his unwavering loyalty and commitment to the goals and aspirations of the administration.
He further expressed his sadness that the late Abba Kyari departed at a time his deep knowledge and expertise were most needed by the administration in its quest to fully diversify and grow the economy.
A letter by AMCON signed by personally by Ahmed Kuru, the MD/CEO, according to a statement by Jude Nwuzor, urged the President to mourn his late Chief of Staff and trusted ally with pride because the deceased led a good life of service, which is worthy of emulation.
He expressed sadness the most because Mallam Abba Kyari was on a national assignment where he participated in several state functions to see how to improve the energy sector in the country among other official engagement, which unfortunately exposed him to the disease, which eventually led to his death.
In his words, “we at AMCON want you to draw your comfort from the fact that Mallam Abba Kyari, a thoroughbred lawyer, banker, journalist and administrator gave his best as a competent, dedicated and loyal aide to you in particular and to Nigeria as a nation. A highly patriotic Nigerian who is not shy and afraid to pursue any matter so far is in National Interest. Indeed, the country will miss him.
“Having led such a remarkable life as an outstanding topmost aide of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under your enviable leadership, which is worthy of emulation, our prayer is that Almighty Allah will accord Mallam Kyari eternal rest and grant Mr. President, the family, and nation as a whole the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of this illustrious Nigerian patriot,” he stressed.
