The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Nigeria), on Monday said it has been duly informed of the intention of both Access Bank and Diamond Bank to go into a merger.
In a three paragraph statement, the commission said this should not be misconstrued as the real merger has happened just yet.
Indeed, the SEC said it is still awaiting the application on the matter from both institutions.
