Airtel Africa joins FTSE100 Monday

Telecommunications giant- Aitel Africa, said the index manager, FTSE Russell of the London Stock Exchange has listed it to join the FTSE100 on Monday 31 January 2022, almost three years after being listed on the bourse in June 2019.

The company said through its mobile telecoms and mobile money services, it is transforming the lives of over 122 million people across the 14 African markets in which it operates.

Since the listing, it said it has demonstrated significant growth in its customer base, revenues, profits, margins, and cash generation, as well as strengthening its balance sheet through reduced leverage. This has been increasingly recognised by the market.

Commenting, Segun Ogunsanya, CEO, Airtel Africaexpressed immense pride “that Airtel Africa will be joining the FTSE 100 only two and a half years after we listed on the London Stock Exchange.
