CCNN Seeks Approval To Present 9-Month Filing By Dec 15

The management of Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc, on Tuesday sought the approval of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) for a waiver to delay filing of its unaudited financials for the nine months ended September 30, 2018, until December 15, or earlier.
While assuring that preparation of the financial statements is ongoing, the delay, according to the notice by Ahmed Aliyu, the company secretary, is due to “an ongoing internal process review occasioned by the recent changes in the senior management team.
Recall that the board, at an extraordinary general meeting on August 6, 2018, unanimously approved the appointment of Engr. Yusuf Haliru Binji, a 1990 Chemical Engineering graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, as new Managing Director/Chief Executive, following the exit of Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu (who moved to BUAGroup). Until then, he was Managing Director of Obu Cement Company Limited (a sister company) from February 1, 2017.
The appointment took effect from September 1, 2018.
