The Board of Geregu Power Plc, on Monday notified the Nigerian Exchange that it has appointed Engr. Mohammed Sani Jaoji acting Chief Executive Officer from August 17, 2026, subject to the approval of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
Jaoji, a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), bringing over three decades of experience in the power sector, spanning technical and leadership roles at the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He was former Head, Maintenance Planning and Performance of Geregu Power Plc, between 2007 and 2019, before serving as Technical Assistant to the Minister of Power from 2019 and 2023, before returning to Geregu Power Plc.
The board expressed confidence that the Jaoji will strengthen the governance structure and strategic direction of the company, pending the appointment of a substantive Chief Executive Officer.
This appointment, the company said in a notice to the Nigerian Exchange by Gbeminiyi Shoda, on behalf of StructureHQ Limited, the Company Secretary, follows the non-renewal of the term of the Interim Chief Executive Officer, Sean Manley which end on August 14, 2026.
It expressed its sincere appreciation to Manley for his contributions to the company during his tenure, while wishing him success in his future endeavours.
