Nwosu Resigns As Access Bank Deputy MD

Barely 20 days after the exit of Mrs. Cathy Echeozor, his contemporary in Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, the management of Access Bank Plc, on Wednesday announced the resignation of Obinna David Nwosu, its Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officers (COO) with effect from April 30, 2017.
A statement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) by Sunday Ekwochi, the bank’s company secretary, assured that Nwosu’s exit “follows his decision to pursue other personal endeavours.”
He also confirmed, the statement continued, “that he has no disagreement with the board and there is no matter relating to his resignation that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company or the regulatory authorities.”
While appreciating Nwosu’s contributions and services to the company, wishing him success in his future endeavours, the bank noted that his exit brings total number of directors in the bank to 15, comprising nine non-executive and six executive directors.
Nwosu started his banking career with Guaranty Trust Bank in 1994, from where he joined Access Bank in 2002, garnering experience across Transaction Services, Retail and Commercial Banking.
According information available on the bank’s website, Nwosu was Divisional Head, Retail Banking before being appointed Group Deputy Managing Director/COO in December 2013.
He serves on the boards of the Bank’s 6 subsidiaries in Africa, The Access Bank (UK) Limited and Central Securities Clearing Systems Plc.
