BBOG Campaigners Kept Hope Alive- Atiku

More encomiums poured out on President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration over Saturday’s successful release of 82 more abducted female students of the Chibok Secondary School over three years ago in April 2014.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, on Sunday, Senate President Bukola Saraki praised the efforts of the President, the security forces and the International Red Cross, noting that the prayers and well-wishes of Nigerians and the global community led to the return of “more of our daughters.”
As a father, Saraki was quoted as saying, “I can’t but feel delighted and excited at the release of the 82 school girls.”
The release of 82 more of the girls in addition to last year’s 20, he continued, “is a testament to the tenacity and commitment of the Federal Government, led by Mr. President, that they are back with us, and will soon be reunited with their families,” he added.
Giving insight into the release of the girls on Sunday, Mallam Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Centre, in the Senate wrote on his Facebook wall on Sunday morning that negotiations leading to the latest release of more abductees “was led by a recent winner of an international humanitarian award, aided by the Swiss in the mediation process, monitored by the ICRC and made possible by the DSS. It involved at some level travels to Bern and Sudan.”
Spurred by the success so far and with too many families still anxiously awaiting the return of their daughters, Saraki urged the Federal Government to continue doing everything within its power to bring back the remaining abducted girls.
He pledged the continued support of the Senate to efforts that would help secure the release of more girls and bring an end to the Boko Haram menace.
Reacting via his twitter handle, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, commended the efforts of the Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili-led BringBackOurGirls group for the enduring campaign it mounted over the four-year period for the release of the abducted students.
The campaign efforts, he noted, kept hope alive for parents of the victims and Nigeria as they refused “to let us forget the missing girls.
“Nigerians stood together as a people and purposed to #BringBackOurGirls. This victory is for all Nigerians,” he added, thanking officials of the nation’s hard working state security services and military, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Taking to his twitter handle on Saturday, Senator Sani, while stressing that “negotiations will continue for the next set after the one secured are made public,” noted that all the 82 released girls are “in good condition with the exception of 1 with fracture on the hand and one with crouches.”
