Firm Acquires 21.4% Stake In Royal Exchange

The board of Royal Exchange Plc, on Friday said it received a letter to the effect that Nexamont Company Limited is now a significant shareholder, having acquired 1,770,499,535 units of ordinary shares or at least 21.4% through the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

According to the notice on the NGX by Lovelyn Anikwe of OOT Nominees Limited, Company Secretary, Royal Exchange Plc said it “received a letter from Nova Finance Securities Limited, the Financial Advisers to Nexamont Company Limited” to that effect that Nexamont Company Limited is now a beneficial owner of 1,770,499,535 ordinary shares in Royal Exchange Plc.

Checks by Investdata News showed that as of June 30, 2025, the audited financial report of Royal Exchange Plc, revealed that Nexamont Company Limited held 1,577,399,535 shares or 19.32% of Royal Exchange, behind the 2,129,405,249 units or 25.79% by Spennymoor Limited, same as last year; while Kacio Global Links Limited accounted for 1,597.496,268 shares or 19.32%, down from 2,097,496,268, representing a 25.37% stake; followed by Far East Finance & Investment Limited- Trading’s 453,067,252 units or 5.48%.

Following from the above, Nexamont may have acquired the entire 965,804,337 units or 11.68% stake held by Dantata Investment & Securities Company Limited, and part of Kacio Global, among others.
