Diamond Bank Plc, on Monday told the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) its appointment of Oluseyi Bickersteth to replace Chris Ogbechie as board chairman received the blessing of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with effect from June 26, 2018.
Ogbechie retired from the board with effect from March 31, 2018, having completed his tenure.
A statement signed for Uzoma Uja, the company secretary and legal adviser, said the bank also received approval for appointment of the new chairman as an Independent Director.
The new chairman, a graduate of Economics from the University of Ibadan, who also holds a Masters Degree from same institution, is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
Bickersteth, a former chairman of KPMG Africa Practice and National Senior of the Nigerian Practice, was before then head of tax and regulatory practice, serving as engagement partner on major tax advisory and compliance projects.
He was involved in the Federal Government’s Vision 2010 project.
