The Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, on Monday said it is not conducting any recruitment exercise as being speculated in some quarters.
A statement by the commission described as false messages and a video being circulated in the social media, purporting that the commission carried out a recruitment exercise wherein it employed 811 persons all from Anambra State with just one from Kano State.
While insisting that no such recruitment exercise was conducted, the commission in a statement by Efe Ebelo, its Head, Corporate Communication, said the person shown in the video, and referred to as the Acting Director-General of the SEC, is not Ms. Mary Uduk.
“For the avoidance of any doubt, since the Acting DG assumed office, the commission has not carried out any recruitment exercise.
“The general public is therefore advised to disregard the messages and video being circulated as they are false” the commission added.
