United Capital Leads As Top-10 Brokers Cross 49.32% Of Q1 Volume

Data from the Nigerian Stock Exchange at the weekend shows that the top-10 stockbrokers, led by United Capital Securities Limted, accounted for a total of 43.233bn units crossed between January and March 29, 2018.
This represented 49.32% of the volume for the period, with United Capital Securities pooling 11.152bn units or 12.72%;followed from afar by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers’ 5137bn or 5.86%; while Cardinalstone Securities accounted for 4.321bn or 4.93% of the Q1 volume on the NSE.
Apel Asset Limited- BRD crossed a total od 4.074bn units or 4.65% of the three-month total; just as CSL Stockbrokers followed with 3.853bn or 4.4%; ahead of the 3.362bn shares or 3.84% exchanged through Reward Investment and Services Limited.
Investors’ 3.305bn units or 3.77% changed hands through Cordros Securities – BRD for the period; Rencap Securities (Nigeria) traded 3.143bn or 3.59%; just as Morgan Capital Securities followed with 2.468bn or 2.82%; with Meristem Stockbrokers coming at number 10 on the table after crossing 2.412bn or 2.75% of total for the period.
In value terms, the top-1o brokerage houses were responsible for N555.16bn or 63.12% of the transactions, led by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers’ N129.32bn or 14.59%; with CSL Stockbrokers coming second with N102.199bn or N1.62%; and Rencap Securities, N83.273bn or 9.47%.
On number for was EFCP Limited with N62.531bn or 7.11%; Cordros Securities followed with N45.024bn or 5.12%; just as FBNQuest Securities Limited recorded N38.234bn or 4.35%; ahead of Ucap Securities’ N32.057bn or 3.64%. At the bottom of the table were Cardinalstone with N23.904bn or 2.72%; Chapel Hill Denham Securities, N20.912bn or 2.38%; followed by Apel Asset Limited- BRD, N18.702bn or 2.13%.
For the month of March however, Cordros Securities took the lead with 2.57bn shares or 12.64%, as the top-10 recorded 10.297bn units or 50.63% of the total volume; trailed by CSL Stockbrokers with 1.366bn or 6.72%.
Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers crossed 1.351bn or 6.65%; Rencap Securities exchanged 1.173bn shares or 5.77% for investors; Investment One Stockbrokers, International Ltd- BRD, 848.902m or 4.17%; and Cashcraft Securities, 790.474m or 3.89%. Cardinalstone Securities came next with 568.073m or 2.79%; FBNQuest Securities, 564.525m or 2.78%; Morgan Capital, 531.724m or 2.61; and GTI Capital, 531.281m or 2.61%.
Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers recorded N38.289bn or 14.04%, to lead nine others as they pooled N186.176bn or 68.28% of the month’s value; ahead of Cordrose Capital, N35.909bn or 13.17%; CSL Stockbrokrs, N28.127bn or 10.32%; and Rencap, N27.224bn or 9.98%. EFCP recorded N21.5bn or 7.89%; FBNQuest, N11.964bn or 4.39%; Chapel Hill Denham, N9.258bn or 3.4%; Fundvine Capital & Securities, N5.181bn or 1.90%; Cardinalstone, N4.533bn or 1.66%; and Cardinalstocne, N4.188bn or 1.54%; and GTI Securities, N4.188bn or 1.54%.
